Novogo Map Update
Hello!
Because I got tired of looking at every forum on the internet, I want to start discussing issues that cand arise from diferrent utilisations of electronic appliances.
A year ago I bought a GPS for a colleague of mine. It’s this model: http://www.novogo.com/s/over-s900bt.htm <– Novogo S900BT
The problem is that the company went out of business and their site isn’t updated. I live in Romania so to receive updates from an other country could pose a problem.
So, I started to play around with the GPS and found that the map for Romania is in the directory \MAPS on the SD-Card. I downloaded the Romanian map from the internet (Torrents) and replaced the one on the SD Card. The Map was OK and know I have and updated map of Romania (september 2007).
I tried the same thing but with all the maps. It didn’t work. The Novogo Navigation Software told me that the maps where locked. I don’t know what is the problem but I will try to investigate.
I also would like to try to install I-Go Software onto this GPS. Maybe it will do well.

Check out the comments because it really works. I used that and now I can enter Speedcam and Speedtraps.

Adi, ma bucur de raspuns. Poate mai stam de vorba sa-i dam de cap lui Novogo asta. Eu zic sa incerci cu harta aia de Romania. Daca vrei cred ca o mai am prin calculator pe undeva. Cum ai reusit sa faci update de la igo 2006 la igo plus 2006?
Bun si daca fac update la program cum stiu eu care din POI-uri sunt Camere Fixe?

Am aceeasi problema cu Novogo. Am incercat sa inlocuiesc harta Greciei (acolo traiesc) cu o versiune mai noua si sa adaug Bulgaria si Romania, pentru ca aveam doar Grecia si Western Europe. Mi-a spus ca hartile sunt incuiate. Ai aflat ce trebuie facut ?
Am impresia ca este vorba de un cod care se afla in fisierele cu hartile. Inca nu mi-am dat seama de smecherie. Cert este ca am reusit sa updatez harta de Ro.

Daca ai reusit sa updatezi harta Romaniei, inseamna ca la fel ar trebui sa procedez si eu sa o pot adauga hartilor existente pe gps-ul meu. Imi poti spune cum ai procedat ?

nu l-am gasit pe nicaieri. Un coleg al meu avea un GPS Novogo si ramasese cu hartile in urma. Pana la urma cred ca este mult mai bine cu Miomap 3.x (crackuit) decat cu Igo. Verifica celalalt post al meu cu update la Igo 2006 plus.
